City Council Re-Districting
Information and Maps
After
each census, the City is required to review and revise the
district boundaries to ensure that they are equal in population
and comply with the Voting Rights Act and state and local
laws. The City Council will hold two public hearings (September
6 and 19) to receive public comment on the proposed revision
to the five City Council districts, and to introduce and adopt
an ordinance to revise the district boundaries.
On
Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 6:30 p.m., the City Council
will consider the proposed revisions to the five district
map and will introduce an ordinance incorporating the map.
The ordinance is scheduled to be adopted at the meeting on
Monday, September 19, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. The staff report,
the proposed ordinance and attachments will be available after
August 26, 2011, on this website and at City Hall.
Map
#5 posted on this website showing the revised five districts
was prepared by the City's demographer Jeanne Gobalet and
has been reviewed and recommended by the Redistricting Committee
appointed by the City Council. A larger version of this map
is on display at City Hall, 375 Fifth Street, Hollister, CA.
Map #6 is an alternative version of the revised five district
map.

public hearings to City Attorney Stephanie Atigh at 636-4300,
