The
City Clerk's Office is a major link in the chain
between our elected officials and the public.
The City Clerk's Office prepares and distributes
agendas and City Council/Redevelopment Agency
meeting packets. The City Clerk also attends and
records the proceedings for City Council and Redevelopment
Agency meetings and other advisory body meetings,
as required. The City Clerk's office also executes,
seals, and distributes resolutions, ordinances,
and contracts or agreements after such meetings.
City Elections are coordinated
by the City Clerk’s Office. The City Clerk’s
Office also handles Fair Political Practices Commission
disclosure filings for the City Council, City
Officers, Planning Commission, Airport Advisory
Commission, Appeals Hearing Board, and designated
employees.
The
City Clerk’s Office maintains the municipal
code, administers oaths of office, and maintains
the official City seal, in addition to publishing
and posting City legal notices. The City Clerk’s
Office receives legal documents for the City,
claims against the City, and opens major Public
Works bids.
