The Hollister Animal Shelter has many wonderful pets available for adoption. Anyone interested in adopting a companion animal from our facility must complete an adoption application. The information you supply with the application helps with the adoption consultation. The consultation process is designed to help us determine if the adoption is in the animals best interest, and to assist you in finding an animal most compatible with your lifestyle.
 
The companion animals available for adoption here arrived for a variety of reasons, which include stray, abandoned and unwanted animals. Some  are purebred, mixed breed or the occasional "heinz 57 breed." The adoption fee covers the spay or neuter of the animal, a free veterinary exam from the local vet clinics in Hollister, and an adoption "goodie bag." Dog adoptions also come with a leash.

ADOPTION FEES ARE:

DOGS
$ 140.00 (+ or -) depending on a MALE OR FEMALE (includes spay or neuter, micro chip, license, vaccination and deworming)
$140.00 ( + or - ) depending on a male OR FEMALE ( includes spay, vaccinations)

The Hollister Animal Shelter adoption hours are 12:00 to 4:30 Tuesday through Saturday for adoptions.

DOG LICENSE REQUIREMENTS - Any dog residing in the City limits of Hollister, over the age of four months must have a City dog license.

License fees range in price to co-incide with the duration of the rabies vaccination, and are as follows:

1 year altered dog $9,

two year altered dog $13,

three year altered dog $18,

one year unaltered dog $18,

two year unaltered dog $28,

three year unaltered dog is $36.

To obtain a dog license simply provide a valid rabies vaccination certificate along with a check or money order for the appropriate fees to the City of Hollister.
